Beso Project, Cuba
<< BACK
The population of Cuba is struggling politically and economically. Many live in poverty
and there are few places they can turn to for help.
Extreme Response partners with a group of leaders in Santiago de Cuba who are committed
to helping those in need. Over the past few years, Extreme Response has provided resources
for 300 individuals with urgent needs.
These needs include: emergency medication, school supplies, hurricane repairs, food
for the elderly and widows, providing wheelchairs, funding for surgeries, and transportation
for schooling.
The team members in Cuba make decisions on a daily basis in responding to the most
"extreme" needs.
Current Needs:
- $2,400 to help our Cuban partners meet urgent needs through the "Beso" (or Kiss) fund, providing emergency medicine, school supplies, clothing and food to those in need.
- $2,100 to send two people into Cuba to evaluate the development of a community center that would provide tutoring, hot meals and school supplies to the children.
- $250 for a digital camera for reporting and sharing what ER is doing in Cuba.
