Liberian Refugee Training Program - West Africa

Hundreds of thousand of Liberians have left their war-torn country and fled to the
neighboring Ivory Coast. There, the English-speaking refugees are struggling to
survive in their new French-speaking country. ER is partnering with The Liberian
Refugee Educational and Vocational Training Program to help these displaced children
and young adults to successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. LRTP
provided basic education from Kindergarten through 12th grade and vocational skills
training in computer science, bookkeeping, sewing, typing and arts and crafts.
Recently, many of these children have returned to their home country of Liberia.
LRTP is still working with these children, helping them to readjust to life in a
country that has been all but destroyed by war.
Current Needs:
- $25 provides for school supplies for one child for one year
- $75 monthly will sponsor a teacher
- $4,000 will build a classroom
