Living Hope Community Center Ð Capetown, South Africa

The Living Hope Community Center is impacting the Cape Town area by providing
home-based healthcare, a clinic in the Masiphumelele Township, education and AIDS
awareness/prevention training, counseling and literacy classes. They also provide a
shelter for street people and a bi-weekly kids club that provides a safe, fun and
loving environment to train young children touched by AIDS, the life-skills they will
need to face life without their parents.

The goals of the Living Hope Community Center in Cape Town are:
- To play a vital role in the prevention, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS
- To undertake community developments & assistance through educational and health related programs
These goals are being accomplished through the many programs offered by Living Hope,
which include the following: AIDS awareness courses, adult literacy, children's clubs,
community health work, dressing clinic, food parcel distribution, general counseling,
home-based health care, life skills training, mother-to-child transmission treatment
and education, permaculture, poverty relief, pre and post HIV test counseling, spiritual
ministry, support groups, and TB treatment supervision.
Current Needs:
- $25 provides for 1 in-home visit by a nurse
- $35 provides for 1 day of care at the health clinic
- $3,000 will build a home for a homeless person
