Extreme Response Leadership
Extreme Response Board of Directors: Committed to Serving Others
Jerry Carnill co-founded Extreme Response International and has served as its President and CEO since 2001. A Michigan native, Jerry first became concerned about the plight of those living in poverty when he and his wife Dawn accepted a position serving as school administrators and teachers in Honduras in 1986. After returning to the U.S., Jerry co-founded Project Build International (PBI), an organization specializing in training and mobilizing groups to do short-term teams in developing countries. PBI soon merged with World Thrust in order to expand its reach and impact. n 1995, Jerry joined HCJB Radio in Quito, Ecuador, overseeing work teams that traveled to the area. It was in Quito that he witnessed the extreme poverty of people working in a local dump and decided to do something about it. For the next few years, Jerry and many volunteers worked in the dump to bring education, kids programming, nutrition, and hygiene. The informal group that would become ER eventually was able to offer medical and dental assistance, childcare, worker support and counseling. Throughout its history, ER has engaged thousands of volunteers from several countries and continues to grow in scope, geography and impact. ER now has offices in Ontario, Quito, Manila, Cape Town, and Atlanta. Jerry is a visionary humanitarian who oversees 40+ staff on four continents. He provides unique and highly effective leadership, with an emphasis on strategic development, fundraising and relationship management. A passionate storyteller, Jerry speaks frequently at conferences, short-term team training, and international strategy meetings. Jerry lives near Atlanta, GA, with his wife Dawn, who coordinates ER Christmas celebrations globally. They have four adult children. Contact Jerry at email@example.com

On that trip the phrase, 'No home, No help, No hope' was mentioned a few times as the staff worked alongside the homeless. Seeing people without jobs or a future created a stirring in my heart.
