It’s World Food Day. ER supporters helped us feed 70,000+ meals to vulnerable families for months. And this week another 43,000 OneMeal food packets reached Manila where our ER Asia team distributed this vital nourishment to families in need.
Receiving the food is cause for celebration as many lower income people are out of work or have had their income severely reduced. ER staff members are distributing the packets through our partners and programs.
Every Day Should Be World Food Day
This shipment follows eight months of emergency food distributions that ER has made in the Philippines, Ecuador and South Africa. Thanks to generous donors, we’ve helped nourish families in great need, often including children from our Dream Centers and Manila Children’s Home.
Thank you Kids Around The World for providing the food staples. More kudos are needed for the awesome members of Grace Chapel of Lancaster, CA, who packed It all up to ship to Manila. We so appreciate working with both of your organizations and for your compassion for people.
While this shipment will help feed thousands in the Philippines during World Food Day, our global COVID Emergency Food Fund is nearly depleted. We’re down to providing slim rations every other week in Ecuador and similar distributions in South Africa.
