Quito Dream Center Celebrates Family

What a day! In late June, dozens of families from the Quito Recycling Community gathered for an incredible time of celebration.

Nearly 100 people participated in our First Dream Center Family Day, including kids and their parents. It was especially joyful for the parents to join because we normally see them only at Christmas parties. We were so blessed seeing parents take pride in their kids and show them love.

We painted a mural with a tree formed by the hands of each family member. This is much more than a decoration; it’s a symbol of who we are. Each hand represents a life, a story, a unique presence that has left its mark on this space at the Dream Center.

Just as the roots support the tree and the branches extend toward the sky, so too is each family an essential part of this community that grows together.

By placing their handprints on the wall, we have created a sense of belonging so they know the Dream Center is their safe place.

This mural reminds us we are all part of something bigger – an extended family, a network of support and love.

The Dream Center is a space that includes them, embraces them, and tells them: “You are important here, you are part of all that we are.”
