This year marks 25 years of Extreme Response as an legal charity! ER started when our founders saw heartbreaking need in the Quito Dump and were inspired by God to respond. By His grace, we have served faithfully in Ecuador ever since. Click here to watch a video showing how it all began. See below to see how your support has produced life-changing impact.
25 YEARS OF ER: AMY AND RON REFLECT
“During the 12 years we have been part of ER, we have seen God’s faithfulness woven into every part of the journey. At the Fish Hoek Dream Center, the Lord is transforming lives, restoring hope and opening doors we could never have imagined.
“From the small beginnings at our kitchen table to a thriving space of learning, community, and discipleship, His provision and guidance have been constant. We are continually reminded that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)
“It is a privilege to walk alongside children and families as they discover how to dream big dreams. Looking ahead, we are excited to see how God will continue to grow this work, deepen impact, and raise up the next generation to dream big and live boldly for Him.” – Ron and Amy Townsend, FHDC Directors

Sharing Jesus For 25 Years
“When we think back over the past 25 years of ER, we are reminded of all the wonderful people that God has brought together to impact lives. Staff members, prayer partners, volunteers, donors, and other friends of ER have all played a vital role.
Together, we have shared the love of Jesus with thousands of people across the globe. May God richly bless ER’s next 25 years.” – Jerry and Dawn Carnill, Co-Founders
Dawn and Jerry helped the ER staff celebrate 25 years of serving others by eating chocolate cake in the morning. Now that’s how you celebrate!

ER’s Next 25 Years: The Peace of God Farm
“My husband (Steve Haag) and I have been engaged with Extreme Response since 2012 and have enjoyed participating in several ministries. Today I am excited by the opportunities we have at Peace of God Farm here in Fish Hoek, South Africa.
“Our Dream Center kids’ lives are being impacted by time spent at the farm learning how to grow their own food. Hundreds more local people will be impacted in the months ahead. This is transformational!” – Anne Haag, Peace of God Farm Director

25 Years In: Vocational Programs Are Flourishing
“From a humble beginning with two old industrial machines, Golden Hands Vocational Training has flourished. We recently received new equipment – a cutting machine, heavy-duty walking foot machine, quilting machines, and an industrial embroidery machine (photo) – that will take our training and enterprise to the next level.
“I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. Looking ahead, I see open doors and boundless opportunities. With God’s promises, guidance, and your support, our path forward will be remarkable!” – Anne Benavidez, Golden Hands Livelihood Director

25 Years of ER: What Happened After Launching in Ecuador?

Having served the people of Ecuador for many years, God placed South Africa on our hearts. In the beginning, we hosted short-term teams and helped with projects. Then, ER opened an office in Fish Hoek.
That allowed us to see a huge need – kids were failing and dropping out of school. We knew this was preventable and launched the Fish Hoek Dream Center to give at-risk children a path to success. Click here to see Amy Townsend share our vision for helping kids and families.
About the same time, God presented opportunities to serve vulnerable people in the Philippines. Initially we helped kids living on the streets. That led to helping entire communities. Click here to see Joshua and our team share how God is restoring the people we serve.
Whether you are new to ER or have journeyed with us for all 25 years, thank you for investing in the transformation of people on three continents!
