The generosity of an ER donor has impacted Ecuadorian orphans living in western coastal region. The children are part of the Fundación Shekinah orphanage, a refuge located in the city of Manta. The foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides shelter and protection for at-risk 30 children.

ER partner Casa de Dios, located in nearby Pacoche, works with the foundation to support the children and its ministry. Casa de Dios’ Paul Fernane shared the following impact of the emergency food made possible through a donation.

“It was a huge blessing to the ministry and the kids were so excited to see the food,” Fernane said. “God’s timing is always perfect. The COVID-19 crisis is taking its toll on the foundation’s resources. The situation has created a serious shortage of food and is impacting the foundation’s ability to feed the children.

“Today, we were able to respond to this need and provide some relief. Casa de Dios delivered rice, lentils, eggs, potatoes, bananas, oatmeal, powdered milk, watermelons, lemons, sugar, corn meal, apples, plantains and oranges.”

The foundation shared its thankfulness on helping to feed these precious Ecuadorian orphans by posting this verse: “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” — Psalms 68:5
